01What it replaces

Six tools, one workspace

A series writer usually buys a tool for each job, and none of them knows your world. In Mythener every job shares one project, so your lore follows the manuscript from the first note to the printed book.

02Before the editor

A structural read on every draft

Developmental editors typically charge $50–$70 an hour, or 2–10¢ a word. The Delphi Engine checks story, character, setting, continuity and more against your own world whenever you revise, so slips are caught before an editor’s paid hours are spent on them.

03FAQ

Pricing questions

How much does Mythener cost?

Author is $25 a month, $270 a year or $480 for 2 years, for one author. Press is $179 a month, $1,933.20 a year or $3,436.80 for 2 years, with 8 author seats, and House is $499 a month, $5,389.20 a year or $9,580.80 for 2 years, with 25 author seats. Paying for a year up front saves 10%, and 2 years saves 20%. Enterprise is priced to your volume, from about $12,000 a year. Prices are in US dollars, and tax is added at checkout. Every plan is free until 30 days: a card is needed to start, and nothing is charged before then.

Who needs a seat?

Only authors. Editors, beta readers and organization admins join free and never count against your seats. Press adds author seats for $22 a month each, and House for $20.

What is a Delphi scan?

One Delphi Engine review of a whole manuscript of up to 200,000 words, across its 12 reviews and 145 checks. Each author seat includes one scan a month, so Press has 8 and House has 25, shared across the list. An extra scan costs $5 on every plan.

What is a reviewed word?

Each word of a manuscript the Delphi Engine reviews counts toward your monthly allowance of 200,000 words for each author seat: 200,000 on Author, 1.6 million on Press and 5 million on House.

What tools does Mythener replace?

Worldbuilding (Campfire), drafting (Scrivener), series planning (Plottr), manuscript checks (ProWritingAid), beta and ARC reading (BookFunnel) and ebook and print formatting (Vellum Press). Together they cost about $664 in the first year for one writer; Author is $270 a year.

Does the Delphi Engine replace a developmental editor?

No. Developmental editors typically charge $50–$70 an hour, or 2–10¢ a word, which is $2,000–$10,000 for one pass over a 100,000-word novel. The Delphi Engine gives each draft a structural and continuity read first, so your editor’s hours go further. Your editor works in the text with you and never needs a seat.

Can I use Mythener today?

Yes. Choose a plan and add a card to open your workspace. Nothing is charged for the first 30 days, and you can cancel before then and pay nothing.

When does the Delphi Engine start?

Your plan’s monthly Delphi scan begins with your first payment, when your 30 days free end. Until then a scan costs $5, and every other part of the workspace is open: building your world, planning, writing, review notes, beta reading and formatting.
